Helping your child to become a better reader

The reading of fictional stories can be an enjoyable pastime for children as it allows them to settle down and open their imagination to a world of wonder that an author wishes to have them experience.

There are times when, we a parents, should pose some questions to our children that may help to support their reading and enjoyment of the stories that they choose. These questions should not be asked every time a child reads a book as that may be a catalyst for turning children away from the enjoyment of reading, however, by choosing a few of the following questions before, during and after the reading of the book, it will support in the development of their comprehension skills and ultimately in their enjoyment of the books that they choose to read.
