For those of you who do not know me, I have been working in the education sector since 1993 and have taught a huge number of students a plethora of subjects, but the one constant thing that I tried to bestow on each of them was a love for reading....anything!....whether it be books of fact, fantasy, science fiction the list goes on.

About four years ago I had published The Ponds of Wonder story in paperback format geared for readers between the ages of 8 and 13 and had received a lot of positive feedback from my new readers which was really great. I had the opportunity to visit a number of schools in Malta, the country where I currently reside, and speak to their students about the writing process and how the Ponds of Wonder story came to be. It was a wonderful experience!

In 2013 I wanted to share this story with young readers all across the globe, and so I converted the story into digital format. During the process I was introduced to a wonderful young artist by the name of Ariane Bezzina who revamped the illustrations for this new addition, including the cover, and I am sure that you will agree, once you see the digital version, just what a talented illustrator she really is!
Since then I have continued promoting the story and have held some reading competitions for readers both locally and abroad…but now I have some really exciting news.

I recently decided, after visiting some school libraries, how important it is that children read books in both digital and traditional formats and so I’m introducing the Ponds of Wonder Books for School Library promotion.
Basically I’d love to get in touch with schools all over the world and give them the possibility of offering The Ponds of Wonder story in digital format, for purchase, to their students, as part of a fund raising intiative and in turn they would get to keep 50% of the sales to use towards purchasing more books for their school library!
It really is an exciting project that I am looking forward to! I provide each participating school with some digital promotional posters and order forms that can either be sent to the students and/or parents via email or printed and displayed/handed out accordingly. There are no shipping costs to be had as the digital books will be sent to the students via email in PDF format which can be read on basically any PC, Mac, tablet, smartphone…the list goes on! I will also be digitally signing each book for each student with words of encouragement to further promote a love for reading.
…and to truly make this an international event I will be posting the name, country and website link of each participating school on a special page of this website so that visitors will be able to see how many schools believe in the power that reading can provide to their students…so let’s make this a very long list!
